Promoted by Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales (EGEDA) and Federación Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematográficos y Audiovisuales (FIPCA), new awards were announced last week: Premios Platino del Cine Iberoamericano (Ibero-American Cinema Platino Awards).
Enrique Cerezo, President of EGEDA (awards organization) and Executive President of Premios Platino explained that the Platino Awards aim to be recognition to the Ibero-American film industry and a platform for the promotion of this cinematography.
Films exhibited from Jan 1st to Dec 31st 2013 and the professionals who worked in them will compete for these awards and result will be announced at the Gala that will take place in Panama, April 5th 2014.
This project reunites 22 countries and its Academies within the Ibero-American area (including Brazil, Portugal and Spain) and it also has the support of the Latin Artis (Latinoamerican actors association).
