Karlovy Vary International Film Festival Awards the Crystal Globe to Le grand cahier - A nagy füzet

The 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, a non-specialized festival with four competition categories, took place between June 28th and July 6th this year. It was organized by Film Servis Fesival Karlovy Vary, with Jiří Bartoška as president of the festival and Karel Och as artistic director. The 49th Karlovy Vary IFF will be held from July 4th to July 12th, 2014.

On July 6th 2013, the festival’s juries presented awards for the best films at the closing ceremony of the
48th Karlovy Vary IFF.

Statistics of the 48th Karlovy Vary IFF 2013

The 48th Karlovy Vary IFF 2013 was attended by 12028 accredited visitors. Of that number 10155 had Festival Passes, 375 were filmmakers, 855 film professionals, and 643 journalists.

128031 tickets were sold for 461 film screenings. A total of 235 films were shown: 197 feature films (163 full-length and 34 short) and 38 documentary films (30 full-length and 8 short). 23 films received their world premiere, while 30 had their international premiere and 13 their European premiere. 35 of the films screened were debuts. 194 screenings were personally presented by delegations of filmmakers. 108 Press & Industry screenings were held.

Film Industry at the 48th Karlovy Vary IFF 2013

855 film buyers, sellers, distributors, film festival programmers, representatives of film institutions, and other industry professionals were accredited for the 48th Karlovy Vary IFF. 436 accredited film professionals came to the festival from abroad. 159 film buyers and distributors and 127 festival programmers chose from the new films and Works in Progress.
