Silk Screen Film Festival 2017 Audience Award Announcement

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the 12th Annual Silk Screen Film Festival. We had yet another successful run that featured 32 full-length films and 10 short films from 14 different Asian countries.

We are proud to announce that this year's Audience Award winner is Lipstick Under My Burkha. Thanks to everyone who came out and submitted your ballots. We hope to see you all at next year's festival!

After being banned in India, winning ten awards and having three more nominations at various film festivals, Lipstick Under My Burkha follows the story of four different women in India struggling to achieve their goals. Despite societal norms, the women and their rebellious spirits are undaunted in this comedic drama.
