AWARDS OF THE 9th EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL
At the closing ceremony of the 9th edition of the festival of European arthouse films "Europe around Europe" at the cinema L’Entrepôt in Paris, April 13, 2014, the Jury including Krzysztof Zanussi, director and producer - President of the Jury Pierre-Henri Deleau, founder and director of festivals (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs)
Giacomo Battiato, director and writer
Menelaos Karamaghiolis, director and producer
Bob Swaim, director and university professor
awarded the Prix sauvage for the best film of the Festival selection to Jan Troell for The Last Sentence / Dom över död mann.
The Jury have also attributed two special mentions :
to Ignas Jonynas for the film The Gambler / Losejas
and Yorgos Tsemberopoulos for the film The Enemy Within / Ο Εχθρός Μου.
The Jury of students and young professionals in the cultural area included of Pierre Arlaud – President of the Jury, Marion Cayrou, Marina Iosifyan, Claire Marchal, Lila Fourchard, Annie Ruinard, Mathieu Serra awarded the Prix Luna for the best film of the festival selection to Ignas Jonynas for The Gambler / Losejas and a special mention to Veiko Õunpuu for the film Free Range / Ballaad maailma heakskiitmisest.
