At a war memorial, a little girl meets an mysterious old man, who seems like the ghost of a soldier: he cannot remember the name of his best friend who died in battle.  From Manhattan a dreamlike story, created by an Italian author at the Student film school of visual art.
Motivation:
For the fascinating location in which the story was set, enhanced by beautiful photography which allowed the jury to appreciate every detail. For the intensity with which the theme of pacifism was handled, which in some ways was still surprising especially due to the original and unexpected ending. According to the jury, the director took inspiration from the graffiti by the famous British artist Banksy for the composition of some scenes where there is the little girl with a red dress.

Motivation:
The technical creation and excellent scene placement of every character, each with his or her own personality, make this short film a rare gem which impressed the entire jury. Original also in the way it dealt with the theme of leaving behind a loved one, neither banal or ironic. The soundtrack was very appropriate and enhanced the action of the characters.

For the immediate impact and simplicity with which this film gets its message across, which goes cleanly and effectively straight to the heart of each one of us..
